Scranton Products fabricates lockers, vanities, benches, dressing compartments, shower stalls, and toilet partition doors, panels, and pilasters from large HDPE plastic sheet material in Scranton PA 18505. These large sheets are produced by our sister company, Scranton Products Industrial, also located at 801 E Corey Street Scranton, PA 18505. These HDPE plastic sheets have a 25 to 75 percent (recovered in the manufacturing process) recycled content. The balance is comprised of virgin resin material obtained from various sources in the Gulf Coast Region of the United States.
Scranton Products mixes virgin material along with reground scraps from previous HDPE plastic orders in the same color to extruded large plastic HDPE sheets. This extrusion takes place at our facility in Scranton PA 18505. We then cut these large sheets into lockers, vanities, benches, doors, panels and pilasters for toilet, shower and dressing stalls. This is also done in Scranton PA 18505.

Scranton Products, Inc. has a line of postconsumer products made from plastic resin pellet to final fabricated product. The material Scranton Products buys from our post consumer plastic resin supplier is indeed post consumer and certified by their firm. The material is produced from almost 100 % post consumer recycled milk jugs, clear juice and water bottles, and other #2 clear consumer bottles. We say “almost” 100% since there may be some very small inclusion of bottles that may not be from curbside recycling. But, practically speaking, production is from 100% post consumer recycled bottles.
Here is an outline of how we internally track our resin to the sheet stock lots being utilized on each project here at Scranton Products:
The post consumer resin purchased from our supplier is received in 40,000 pound truck loads. This resin is designated under product number KWR101-150 natural post consumer recycled HDPE. This material is carried in our resin inventory and segregated as post consumer resin. The resin is higher in cost due to its processing complexity so it is kept separate from all other HDPE pellets in stock. This post consumer resin is only utilized for our Scranton Products post consumer product line and it is run in sheet form for our line of products that are specified to contain post consumer contents. The sheet runs are made “to order”, meaning we carry very little inventory of the high cost sheet on the floor. We usually run the sheet as the projects are released for fabrication due the inventory grow that the post consumer levies on our sheet inventory levels and cost. With this said, the post consumer sheet lots are run and then specifically labeled and segregated from our standard sheet which only contains post industrial or reclaimed materials content. The sheet that is then pulled for each specified post consumer project is matched up through our optimization cut planner program to insure that the proper sheet lot utilized was made with the KWR101-50 natural post consumer resin and can be designated as post consumer materials. You will see on our shop travelers that the sheet to be pulled and used for the components is clearly marked on all documentation to avoid any confusion.
This is an extremely closed system that we have 100% controls over as we are a vertical manufacturer that extrudes our own HDPE sheet from pellet to raw sheet materials. The sheet materials are made here in our facility on the same campus our sheet materials are then fabricated into lockers, vanities, dressing compartments, shower stalls, and toilet partition doors, panels, and pilasters. We have no outsourcing of sheet or fabrication processes which could lend to materials not meeting specifications due to loss of control of the materials used in any process.
It is Scranton Products, Inc. goal to meet all specifications and deliver 100% satisfaction with all products supplied to the commercial building markets that we serve.
