Procure for the Environment (PfE) Procedure

CPG has implemented a Procure for the Environment (PfE) Procedure.  Sustainable procurement means taking social and environmental factors into consideration in addition to financial factors when making purchasing decisions. To practice sustainable procurement, we must look beyond the traditional economic parameters such as just buying at the lowest cost. Our purchasing decisions are based on the life-cycle cost of items purchased, any associated purchase risks, as well as any implications for our society and the environment. This approach requires viewing environmental factors in a broader context that includes value for money, performance management and corporate and community priorities.
